When this is over, a major new era of American investment in scientific research is critical. It used to be something we did and were proud of, then diminished as we put short term private profit over long-term public good. #repairamerica

Sadly, I don’t see any signs of a paradigm shift back to the “greater good”

You see the signs in progressive candidates who support those kinds of policies - and there are many. But if people don’t support those candidates then it simply doesn’t happen.

More will be revealed on this. Seems we have made conscience decisions to not find cures nor large advancements in science/medical wellness. Decades of lack. Too bad we cannot be a country of advanced medicine, science, innovative engineering...complacency seems to rule+neglect.

I have a vague recollection that our government invested in pure research through our colleges and Universities ... and this investment has either stopped or been dramatically reduced ... US manufacturing of vital equipment like masks and ventilators also needs to be addressed.

Also we need people who are more intelligent and able to "Think Outside The Box", because this is where we are at the point of no return now, Economy wise.

“Corporate dominance has created tremendous amounts of unnecessary human suffering — And human suffering is what the government should be concerned with.” Clearly, it is not.
