1/ There’s a reason the federal govt wasn’t prepared for this.There’s a reason we haven’t responded adequately. There’s a reason we’re not feeding the hungry. And there’s a reason why the bailout is more of a gift to the rich than to everyone else: Because sociopaths can’t love.

2/ But this is not just the result of one wounded soul’s mental issues. No, he is the perfect embodiment of an amoral, sociopathic economic system that has gripped the levers of power in America for the last forty years.

3/ There’s only one thing that can fix this now: it’s time for the people to step in.

4/ Govt didn’t just decide to end slavery, give women the right to vote, or end segregation. In every one of those situations the change began when people woke up, people rose up, and people stepped in. And that’s how the change will happen now: a great awakening among all of us.

5/ When the pandemic is over we need a wave of citizen activism unlike anything we’ve seen in this country in a very very long time. Local. State. Federal. It’s the one thing they fear. Override every effort at voter suppression. It will take time but we can turn the ship around.
