This is not arithmetic. Chomsky is proposing another 4 years of Trump could lead us to Nazi Germany. That's where the debate can actually start.

My personal view: Those of us with strong moral convictions need to come to terms with how our actions or inactions in November will or won't continue the human suffering being caused by Donald Trump. We are morally responsible for the suffering that our actions allow to happen.

This is not arithmetic, it is blackmail. Very unfortunate and imprecise language from Chomsky. It is neither clear nor obvious that it is less dangerous to give in to extortion than it is to defy it. Many do not negotiate with blackmailers, and for good reason.

Pundits CONSTANTLY overlook one metric - The future of the “opposition party”. ⬇️ If Biden wins the DNC will be largely occupied by right wingers (Pete, Klob, Booker, etc). If Biden LOSES we can push candidates that ACTUALLY REPRESENT US (Rashida, Omar, Ro, AOC, KEITH, etc).
