The spiritual question isn’t “Where is God in all this?” The question is “We are we in all this?” God doesn’t violate the Law of cause-and-effect. Our recklessness, irresponsibility & lovelessness created this; as we atone & put our feet on another path, the effects will change.

Still human irresponsibility. And the fact that we were so ill prepared to handle it, further irresponsibility. That we have handled it so unjustly, further irresponsibility.

Absolutely it was ours, that we were so unprepared when it happened and have handled it so unjustly. Diminished investment in the kinds of things that protect the common good - such as pandemic preparedness- was a result of a system that exists to serve too few.
