He didn’t simply say he has absolute power. Now his name will be printed on every bailout check, and there are tens of millions of Americans who are literally going to think he personally sent it to them. Don’t kid yourself; they’ll want to vote for him in order to say thank you.

It’s beyond “At this rate he’s going to become a dictator.” He’s in the process of becoming one now. Maher says he’s afraid he won’t leave the WH but it’s beyond that already. He doesn’t plan for there to be an election. He’ll say he’s using his emergency powers to “postpone” it.

The scariest part of course is how many Americans would think that’s a good idea. He will at least float this idea at some point. Our greatest hope at the moment lies with Republican senators who know this is true & will find the courage to act. I think there are a few who might.

I'd like to believe even his most gullible supporters aren't naive enough to believe he personally sent them a check. Still at another level they'll associate the signature with the payment, and will imagine themselves indebted.

This is weird bc the checks are delivered electronically. There won’t be any signatures. I am not a fan of Trump, but I can see blind belief in fake assertions. No one is a critical thinker anymore. 😠

Yes it a political tactic to get votes. Lucky millions get direct deposits so they dont get the personal sign checks.
