He didn’t simply say he has absolute power. Now his name will be printed on every bailout check, and there are tens of millions of Americans who are literally going to think he personally sent it to them. Don’t kid yourself; they’ll want to vote for him in order to say thank you.

It’s beyond “At this rate he’s going to become a dictator.” He’s in the process of becoming one now. Maher says he’s afraid he won’t leave the WH but it’s beyond that already. He doesn’t plan for there to be an election. He’ll say he’s using his emergency powers to “postpone” it.

The scariest part of course is how many Americans would think that’s a good idea. He will at least float this idea at some point. Our greatest hope at the moment lies with Republican senators who know this is true & will find the courage to act. I think there are a few who might.

love your work. But as far as Trump is concerned the Democratic alternative is worse. Biden is a cognitively disabled candidate who has a credible rape charge against him. And the Dem establishment is hell bent on war with Russia and is corrupt to the core.

I can imagine that some people who sleep in MAGA baseball caps will say, “Hey, Donald Trump sent me a check!” But that’s his base, and we won’t be able to pry them away, anyway. But you’re right - it is a cheap political con. And there will be more of them coming.

I would not think twice seeing those CDC postcards and stimulus checks having Trump written all over them, for i know whom i should thank for - those like @AndrewYang. Trump only agreed cash relief because he had to. But it's our job to remind people who are really for the people

Like we predicted, he will call it Trump Bucks or have his name signed somewhere. This should be for the duration of virus. Then we can revise to unconditional 18+ y.o. Americans and permanent. Whoever advocates for UBI/FD will have a huge chance of winning the 2020 election.
