Hey @NAACP, please don't promote @IyanlaVanzant. She's part of the same "disease is all in your head" cult as @marwilliamson. It turns the pursuit of "wellness" into an excuse to shame sick people for being sick and fat people for being fat. It's gross.
THIS WEDNESDAY, April 15 at 8pm ET Join us for our second #COVIDUnmasked VIRTUAL TOWN HALL discussing #COVID19 and its disproportionate effects on OUR communities. w/ Special Guest @IyanlaVanzant #RSVP: NAACP.org

Except you’re wrong about both of us. That.’s a falsehood perpetrated by those who clearly know nothing about either her or me. Iyanla’s having lost a daughter and me having lost a sister to cancer, neither one of us think it’s “all in your head.”

My mother read both of your books, The Secret, and all the other anti-science drivel y’all peddle. She tried to positively think her way out of a cancer diagnosis and (unsurprisngly), she died. You should take responsibility for the damage your beliefs cause.

Visualizations like that have been around for decades. People are on staff at major medical institutions who support patients with guided meditations. Today someone’s oncologist is likely to be the first person to suggest that kind of support group. You are decades behind on this
