At a time like this we need the Post Office more than ever. It’s an essential connecting link between us and goods and services, and with each other. That we don’t mess with the postal service is a fundamental American value; this is bigger than it appears.
So let me get this straight: We can afford to give airline companies billions in bailout even when they’ve spent billions on stock buybacks, but we can’t afford to bail out the postal service?

The post office should be able to charge other package deliverers for use of the mail space. If a company wants to compete against a governmental organization they should be forced to pay a surcharge for the privilege.

The post office specifically & the federal government generally is the largest employer of #ADOS. Could explain why the GOP truly insists upon smaller government. Ados101.com

The Post Office feels like the mycelium underneath the forest that keeps it alive through the winter months. Protecting this service is of extreme importance to me, and I appreciate you addressing its seriousness. #connectionmatters #values #PostOffice

It was recognized during the Great Depression almost a century ago that some services should NOT be privatized. Why? There quality goes down and they become affordable only to the few. They include health, infrastructure and utilities. Pure profit motives rob us of the basics

Maybe now is the time for the return of Postal Banking, and low dollar low interest loans so that we can give people good paying government jobs, and give banking to millions of poor people being taken advantage of by predatory payday lenders and banks?
