It’s astonishing how amidst the non-stop “how did Bernie fail so bad?” talk, someone literally spent $1 billion, an actual billion dollars of his own money, to win the American Samoa primary, and the entire political media collectively decided to just never speak of it again

1. The moderate white guy no-hopers: Hickenlooper, Delaney, Bullock, Sestak, Ryan, Moulton, Swalwell. None of these people were ever going to win the nomination: many had no major profile in the party and none were especially popular outside of their state, if they were.

Sometimes a campaign's fuckup is simply existing. These people were wastes of time, trying to out-Biden Joe Biden on the premise that maybe Biden would fall over and die.

2. Wayne Messam is a decent mayor and was never going to be president.

3. Marianne Williamson wanted to run a celebrity campaign, which can and has worked in the past, but Marianne Williamson is A) crazy and B) not nearly famous enough to get around the bit where she is crazy.
