There are two political universes: The first is the parties, the pundits, the money, the polls, the debates, and the media. I call it the political /media industrial complex. 1/1

The second is the American people, the voters, those who Thomas Jefferson referred to as “the only safe repository of power.” 1/2

In ‘20 as in’16, the first ate the second one alive. One of the most important activities on earth has been reduced to a carnival show, overseen by unscrupulous people who couldn’t care less. I hope at least some of them are using this time to think about what they’ve done again.

The federal government is a lost cause. Vote for Biden, the lesser of two evils and be done with it. Our work is not there. Reform at the national level is a waste of energy. We the people must help (and are) helping each other, down here on the ground. We are networking.

I have such a feeling of despair. I had such hope.

I don't know if I was just more naive back in the day, but it seems like there was a time when at least some national-level politicians served the people. Now it seems like they all(except Bernie and 1 or 2 others) are exclusively about power/money at any cost. It's devastating.

Thanks for always seeing the core issues and encapsulating them so well. I'm not sure what might make them think about what they've done - but I hope one/some do - since they do it, I think, for *their* survival and that's all that matters. And they all fall in line... Thank you.

Most Dem Leaders today are Marxists masquerading as Libs, + deceit is what Marxists are all about. The unwarranted Coronavirus lock down is just their latest strategy to gain political power.......First a Russian Collusion Scam, then a Quid Pro Scam, and now a Black Plague Scam.

I talk w a GOP friend bc I want to understand their perspective. Words like: morals, "isms", social responsibility have very different meanings. One idea is no one is a "victim" of the system or inequality, is bc people didn't educate themselves & r not blessed by God.
To me they just seem busy coming up with ways to blame others, do nothing, and fundraise solely on fear of what they created. #M4A #GND #VoteByMail #VoteGreen

They seem to genuinely believe Biden is going to win handily. Their disconnect with the people's sentiments is so apparent right now.

not a chance. Power is a drug or addiction. It's like Tolkein's rings of power that corrupt the heart of man. Thinking is not something that happens with people who hold onto power more than they hold onto humanity.

I don't think a single one of them feels even the slightest guilt to be quite honest with you.
