This is the coming-of-age event no one saw coming. It’ll be hard to retain a politically immature perspective after this, to assume we’re protected from any manner of other disastrous possibilities either. From nuclear safety to environmental safety it’s time for a whole new way.

For years we’ve been whittling away at public investments in things that provide public safety. Creating short term corporate profit superseded long term protection of the common good; public safety has been sacrificed at the altar of corporate gain. This will stop if we stop it.

Not sure if you bring up nuclear in the weapon or power sense. Our current nuclear is powerful but wasteful and designed to support the weapons labs. Gen IV Nuclear is powerful, efficient and stable. It does not support weapon production but enables clean industry.
