A devastating tool that the powerful have that isn't talked about is their ability to deem someone legitimate or not. They of course deem themselves, their supporters & sycophants "legitimate" & "credible." They brand anyone challenging power from the outside as illegitmate. 1/2

This has huge ramifications. The voices of the powerless are then considered illegitimate & not worth covering or amplifying. Mouthpieces of the powerful are given the royal treatment and everyone is told they are the keepers of the truth. This is how power maintains itself. 2/2

The last time something like this happened on a large scale, the revolutionary war started. England saw the world or at least this part of it as taxable without representation. We didn’t. Let’s hope we can do this revolution more peaceably than our 18th century counterparts.
