When a species acts in a way maladaptive to its survival, it either mutates or it goes extinct. Evolution 101. Humanity's collective behavior is now maladaptive for our survival. We'll either mutate from an economically to a humanitarian driven species, or we too will go extinct.

I agree, we are at a crossroads. We can either go forward together as one species with the wellness of all humans as our driving factor, or we can decline, probably violently, into history like the dinosaurs.
