This is an important THREAD about holding the complexity of this bill...that while it provided much needed short term relief to people it also provided exorbitant bailouts for corporations. We deserve better.
THREAD. So about this bill. Our nation is in a crisis right now. From the start I've said we must put people before corporations.

I'd argue that what's wrong with our side of the aisle sometimes is that we do "hold the complexity." What's most deeply true is not complex at all. Providing the means of survival for those who have nothing should come before providing comfort for those who have everything.

Agree. it's a horrific tradeoff. We deserve better.

The complexity is in understanding that the tradeoff we're forced into is indeed horrifically unjust but that, for House members like Pressley, voting to pass it ––when blocking it now to fight to improve it will delay desperately needed aid–– is still the most right thing to do.

As I expect you would, my friend. There's almost certainly going to be a 4th coronavirus relief bill. We have to learn the lessons of this one's failures. Progressives must unite around a vision and take the initiative to define the package and pass it through the House to start.
