This is happening for one reason only: that the president has refused to use the Defense Production Act to direct the manufacture of all needed equipment. Says the federal govt isn't a "shipping clerk," doesn't want to tell the business sector what to do. It's borderline criminal
My hands are shaking i can’t type. A nurse at my elmhurst hospital who i don’t know just called me crying. She said they need vents but more so need doctors and also doctors who are ICU trained. She told me they cry everyday bc they know they’re gonna die. They’re begging. Please

Manufacturing can only happen so fast and it's been initiated, but I guess if you feel the need to place blame...

That’s simply not true. The Defense Production Act gives the president the right to direct manufacturing. Instead, we are going with what’s available. It’s not “placing blame” to point this out. People are dying unnecessarily. Let’s be adults here.

Marianne Williamson says... “It is the purpose of our lives to love one another and to ameliorate the unnecessary suffering of all sentient beings.” Trump says...”I will enact the Defense Production Act when it is time.” IT IS TIME!!!

She's saying it's trained doctors that are what's really lacking. That isn't the fault of Trump. It's not anyone's fault, it's just something we need to deal with as best we can...

If fighting Covid-19 is a war (and it is), Trump is a war criminal. ishinobu.com/coronaviruses/

I wish the defense production act could manufacture ICU doctors

Maybe this is a good time to allow all the doctors who came from other countries & forced to do low skill work because they weren't 'Licensed' in this country to come forward & help out & get citizenship/job after

Marianne it's even worse than that: GM is set to make them for $ 1 billion but the feds want to shop around to try to find a better deal. Trillions of dollars given without batting an eye to defense contractors & other corporations, but citizens' lives are not worth a billion!

Too bad: According to reports from the Los Angeles Times and Bloomberg News — not exactly right-wing media outlets — the federal stockpile of N95 respirator masks was depleted under the Obama administration but never replenished, despite two separate recommendations to do so.

The gruesome consequences of Trump's "Economy First" attitude ... Now it's finally coming back to him ... and most don't have the courage to challenge or blame him directly ... they dance around it ... "courage" is in shorter supply than ventilators ...
