I do not understand how a one- time payment of $1200 is going to be enough. It’s not just whether or not the virus will be kept at bay; it’s whether or not despair will be kept at bay. Putting tens of millions of people at risk for such intense anxiety is a recipe for disaster.

I am worried that I don't qualify for any of it because I am self employed. I just tried the check if you qualify calculator & it said I don't qualify. Frankly, I tried filling out the form like five different ways & each time it came back with "looks like you dont qualify"

I am lucky, and I'm still stressed about what tomorrow brings. There are so many people with families in more vulnerable businesses who need real help now. We gotta do everything we can from the federal gov't to the individual and everywhere between.

US politicians and many US citizens believe it is immoral to give any supports to ordinary citizens. But they have no objections to giving any amounts of handouts and subsidies to wealthy Capitalists and their corporations. This peculiar belief system did not arise by accident.

They buy you breakfast for a week. You buy them dinner for five years. The equation is always proportionally the same. It is about wealth transfer concealed with pretty ribbons. ALWAYS.
