I do not understand how a one- time payment of $1200 is going to be enough. It’s not just whether or not the virus will be kept at bay; it’s whether or not despair will be kept at bay. Putting tens of millions of people at risk for such intense anxiety is a recipe for disaster.

Exactly, the mental toll of not taking care of people *with their own tax dollars* is an added danger, from suicides to people who snap and hurt others, to burglaries/robberies, and so on.
