Our entire government has been hijacked by a corporate aristocracy hardly different than the British monarchy and aristocracy we rejected in 1776. This is so much bigger than Democrats versus Republicans: this is the people versus that entire machinery & what keeps it well oiled.

But Gandhi wanted to maintain the caste system and MLKs dream wasn't realized. A better example is the Singing Revolution when the USSR recognized it could no longer control a self-determined populace. The onus to avoid violence is on the tormentor, not the victim.
Marianne stepped up and spoke her mind, and now I am here. Change occurs in the hearts and minds of people. It really is that simple.
