I’m not anti-capitalist; it has done a lot of good for the world. But unbridled capitalism, untethered to ethical considerations, has done great damage too. It helped create the problem and it is not the answer now. This isn’t about profit for anyone; it’s only about saving lives

I recommend everyone read "Why Socialism?" by Albert Einstein. He presents the reasoning of such complex problems in such a concise and simple way it's astounding. Always give it as a starter to any of my friends that want to dip their toes into politics. bit.ly/2lGcZeM

We heard reports that a @target in Seattle was selling n95 masks. My staff and others stepped in. Those masks are now on their way to the health care workers who desperately need them.

Crony capitalism and rent seeking via lobbying is the problem. It is not capitalism, but the fact that politicians refuse to let it work.

It's not either/or, my sister. It's a matter of time and process. Capitalism may have done a lot for developing the world, but by and large, as we enter the space age, this 19th century economic philosophy has outlived its usefulness in the 21st century.
