I’m not anti-capitalist; it has done a lot of good for the world. But unbridled capitalism, untethered to ethical considerations, has done great damage too. It helped create the problem and it is not the answer now. This isn’t about profit for anyone; it’s only about saving lives

@marwilliamson, you of all people ought to see the evil in capitalism. It increases inequality. Its externalized costs are killing the poor and the ecosystem. And its competition kills empathy, resulting in racism, austerity, wars, random shootings, etc.

I suppose outside ‘crisis’ considerations though, deaths due to poor distribution of resources isn’t that important.

I think that a socialist capitalism based IN TRUE FAIRNESS AND EQUITY for ALL HUMAN BEINGS is the direction we should be heading. We ALL COLLECTIVELY EAT. We ALL collectively win. Full stop.

There is no Capitalism without crisis weather it’s quietly killing us softly or engulfing us in its collapse. There is no rational reason for massive industries and trillions of dollars to be privately owned. A democratic socialist future is possible.
