FDR didn’t just pull us out of the Depression. He fundamentally altered economic/banking/political rules so it wouldn’t happen again. Several decades ago we started dismantling some of the very protections that FDR created, so crony capitalists could party more. And here we are.

Bernie camp should have branding him as FDR instead of bragging around "Dem socialist" which scare voters away. Look at the outcome.

Currently watching broadcast on managing this crisis in our county. Not thinking about American history so much. Glad to be reminded of FDR in 1940 but it's 60 years later and I need to pay attention to what's going on in 2020. Was asked for prayers for the sick and deceased.

Marianne, your grasp and keen eye for the grand narratives of history remind people of the possibilities for a better world. You are Divine Light itself. Sincerely Your Comrade, Krapp

Bernie would’ve helped his cause immensely by referring to himself as a New Deal Democrat. Regular voters aren’t plugged in enough to differentiate democratic socialism from actual socialism, and the DNC/right wingers exploit the label in the most intellectually dishonest ways
