If you’re about to think “Oh no, I might not be able to get this or that at the grocery store,” take a moment to consider how US sanctions have effected people in Cuba, Iran & Venezuela. Millions of people for whom life has been made so hard. These are ways we can grow from this.

Actually US sanction greatly exacerbate the difficulties citizens face, in authoritarian regimes. Sanctions NEVER improve ordinary people's lives.

You’re so right on, @marwilliamson. I’m flashing back to my middle school days, when we lived in Honduras. There were shortages all the time: flour, sugar, beans, and even WATER. Americans have no idea how the rest of the world deals with life from day to day. Thank you. 🙏🏼

If authoritarian gov’t exist in Cuba, Iran, & Venezuela is because of 🇺🇸 historical policy of interventionism. Before Castro, there was 🇺🇸 backed dictator Batista. The Shah in Iran was autocratic supported by 🇺🇸 which gave rise to the ‘79 revolution
