State officials having to make decisions re school closings made agonizing by the fact that millions of children only eat each day because they’re fed at school. This in the richest country in the world! All this is exposing America’s underbelly, and hopefully we’ll learn from it

Yes. I explained to my son today that the function of schools should be to educate kids, not to feed them, and then made the connection between that and the need for a living wage. This virus is providing lots of teachable moments...

Loving the stories coming out of #WeGotThisSeattle of restaurants feeding school kids and those in need. But the burden should not be on the few kind souls who will inevitably get financially and emotionally burnt out
