Every American would do well to realize that widespread terror, wondering who will live and who will die, is exactly what the citizens of Baghdad felt when we invaded them. Let this experience not be meaningless. Let our suffering give us x-ray vision into the suffering of others

Exactly. Behind the words pandemic, borders, healthcare, childcare, uninsured, underinsured, refugee, elderly, homeless -- real people. They are brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, grandparent and grandchild.
