Millions of elderly people in USA live alone. If they get sick there is no one to help them ... particularly if friends or family are sick as well. They will be without food, without medicine, without help. If we do not respond adequately, many will die.This is a moral emergency.

In the line shopping last night was elderly man. I asked the cashier if they had a system set up where the elderly could pick up groceries from car, she said No. A discount grocer where elderly frequent d/t fixed incomes. Not same svc avail as more expensive grocers.

At a time like this, we should reach out to help at risk Elderly with needs. We can do online shopping for them, etc. Take them meals a bm d check on them often. Check on their pets. Etc

This is absolutely true. What I wish was absolutely true as well, is that the older generation showed 1/10 the same amount of care for the younger generation in their continued struggle to deal with climate breakdown.
