Millions of elderly people in USA live alone. If they get sick there is no one to help them ... particularly if friends or family are sick as well. They will be without food, without medicine, without help. If we do not respond adequately, many will die. This is a moral emergency.

You should do a tour through Florida saying this before Tuesday. They need to understand what a Joe Biden presidency means for healthcare and social security.

I agree. Lets pursue multiple paths - government safety nets, churchs, civic organizations. Churches/houses of worship of any religion can begin delivering groceries to congregants and others who need, and check on them. Maybe bring them in to their homes. We must all respond!

I witnessed this myself when I went to Puerto Rico after Maria. So many abandoned elderly.

We know it is a problem. What is the solution? What are practical things that people can do?

That's 100% right. Nursing homes, hospitals and the like have always been places where virus causes catastrophic outbreaks. My dad died a year ago at 97 and I know if he were here he wouldn't have survived this in the nursing home he was in.

Do you see a problem with living in an over populated world, that has a finite amount of resources?
