People with corona symptoms having to go back to work - many who handle our food btw- because we have no federally mandated sick leave. Nor do we have adequate preparedness. This is what happens when private short term profit is placed before public investment in the common good.

Love how the answer to every crisis is more government from people who hate the current administration. The idea that we can choose the right people that will fix all ills is so flawed that even a cursory glance at world history will show its problems

I only get paid when I go to work, no sick leave, no vacation. I work with the public as a licensed massage therapist. I would lose my job if I had to stay home and I cannot afford to see a doctor. I have access, just not affordability.

I think Bernie needs to speak more in these terms than the stats he keeps throwing out in debates. People relate more to what it means rather than numbers. I don't mean awkward anecdotes Amy style but just generally for people what current policies mean and what his will mean

Exactly. It鈥檚 Cause and Effect. There is such a tremendous lack of insight in our country.

Gosh, I thought I heard the mayor of New York say it was law workers get a few weeks sick pay. Maybe it鈥檚 in that state only?
I have a feeling many people don鈥檛 know that they even have it. The symptoms are the same as the Flu, and for years we are told not to go to the hospital or the doctors for the Flu.

It鈥檚 not just that simple. It鈥檚 personal discipline to save for the rainy day. We all need take small amounts and out it on a savings. Up to 6 months. Issue is people see it growing and blow it on other things. I loved pay check to pay check but I made it a priority to save

Cap2 at Walmart. I've earned 1 day of ppto so far this year(and I'm full time). If i get sick, it's a choice between loosing my job(and the insurance that i just got!) Or exposing THOUSANDS of people daily to my illness.
