People with corona symptoms having to go back to work - many who handle our food btw- because we have no federally mandated sick leave. Nor do we have adequate preparedness. This is what happens when private short term profit is placed before public investment in the common good.

In the US many people believe giving people sick leave would threaten their Constitutional freedoms and undermine the economy. Any degree of Institutional decency is regarded as threatening in the US. Why is this?

Started in the 1980’s with a well-funded effort to convince people all govt action on their behalf is “bad.” Tragic.

There have been numerous attempts in Congress to get this accomplished... Republicans have stopped every attempt.

Is what happens when our politicians sold our nation out to China. The fact that we are depending on China for antibiotic manufacturing is utterly disgusting.

This is a real issue that has many possible solutions. The core issue is all our leadership, from govt to corporations, are driven by short sighted goals. Our visionless government should be driving a realistic and indisputably beneficial generational agenda.
