A lot of misogyny is unconscious. Some of the most vicious misogeny is from women towards other women. One insidious form of it is “selective feminism” - a theoretical support of other women that really only applies to women that we like.

Feminism doesn't mean supporting/endorsing everything every woman does. It's about ensuring equal opportunities. There's nothing inconsistent, for example, about saying 'As a feminist, I don't support Michelle Bachmann's work'

Trying to think which woman it is you think I’ve been attacking.

Do you acknowledge and support Tulsi as the only woman left in the race or like other women contribute to pretending she doesn't exist?

Of course I acknowledge her!

But women are people. Do we support someone just because they are female? I did not agree with Warren's policies or her excuses for why people didn't vote for her. I think a lot of people were hoping that she would be the stronger candidate. She wasn't. Am I a misogynist?

I’m not talking about whether or not we support people politically. That’s in the realm of honorable debate. I’m talking about whether or not we demonize other women, judge them unfairly etc - particularly in ways we would not do to men.

The same thing can be applied to men. That’s the way people are.
@marwilliamson, you endorsed Bernie. A man who’s campaign smeared @TulsiGabbard w/ bigoted, Hinduphobic propaganda. Who’s campaign is rife w/ bigotry. You were probably unaware, but it’s fact. He helped the Democrats stop the most qualified woman for CIC this country’s ever seen!
