Tens of millions of Americans have no real hope of participating in a vibrant economy. They live each day to serve the economy; the economy does not serve them. They survive but they do not thrive. Healthcare and access to higher education could literally be a lifeline for them.

In the richest, most powerful democracy in the world there should not be so many economically desperate people. Low unemployment rates mask the deeper reality of almost 40 million people living in poverty. An incremental approach to fixing this is morally wrong. We can fix it now

They have great opportunity but it is up to them to pick up the reins, not us.

If every1 had B.A’s, M.A’s & Ph.d’s no one would work the jobs that Actually make a society function, ppl who work in Waste disposal, needed, ppl who pave the rds, needed, ppl who clean and make food, needed, we need to fundamentally reconstruct the very economical terrain

I am loving your enthusiasm and righteous spirit! We must think in a new big picture way. “Go to school” was the motto, for the FEW who could, in the past. Now even the 1s w/degrees struggle. Our society’s lie has come to light, an entire generation has degrees and now what?

also, the young need to stop being lazy and get off their assses and vote. This has always been the problem in our country. They show up to rallys by the 1000's, probably for the free concerts, yet they are dont vote. Bernie would win if more than half the young voters voted.

I agree. As taxpayers we need to think investment not handout. You can't deny even the eagle needs the help of its wings to rise.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!! I thought we were supposed to lend a hand when needed to bring each other up. What I’m seeing now is the opposite. I was looking forward to going back to school. Now that dream is gone.

You are right but there isn't a party that supports these ideas right now. We need a true 3rd party. We also need ranked choice voting and a better primary process. Then maybe progressive ideas will stand a chance.

People have always had to work. Working is an essential part of survival. Remember the barter system? The problem is people are needing other people’s skills less and less, because we have robots and technology to do the heavy lifting. Rewrite the tax code, and give UBI.
