Since 1980s the main organizing principle for US public policy has been short-term corporate profits, a capitalism untethered from ethical & moral responsibility to people & planet. What we need now is a fundamental course correction from an economic to a humanitarian bottom line

Capitalism is the most ethical and moral system of economic and social orangization. Socialism has produced nothing but misery, famine and genocide for “oppressed” peoples. Too many people have slept through history class it seems these days.

I don’t know what history class you could possibly be talking about. Capitalism has been responsible for some very good things and it has also been responsible for some very bad things. The democratic socialism Bernie Sanders is talking about is the opposite of what you describe.

It is clear, that for far too many, there is misinterpretation of the democratic socialism that Bernie Sanders is talking about.

The authoritarian socialism that Sanders is not talking about is also the opposite of what he/she described. old.reddit.com/r/communism/wiki/…
