Since 1980s the main organizing principle for US public policy has been short-term corporate profits, a capitalism untethered from ethical & moral responsibility to people & planet. What we need now is a fundamental course correction from an economic to a humanitarian bottom line

Opposite as usual. US has increased the quality of life for more people and helped lead more people out of poverty during that time than any time in human history. The trend is continuing with Trump. You only look an inequality, you dont look at the big picture.
