Since 1980s the main organizing principle for US public policy has been short-term corporate profits, a capitalism untethered from ethical & moral responsibility to people & planet. What we need now is a fundamental course correction from an economic to a humanitarian bottom line

My Dear Marianne: I love you. I really do. I'm not just saying that. You are principled, intelligent, articulate, inspiring, and lovely. But I must inform you that capitalism has ALWAYS been untethered from ethical & moral responsibility to people & planet. And always will be.

Opposite as usual. US has increased the quality of life for more people and helped lead more people out of poverty during that time than any time in human history. The trend is continuing with Trump. You only look an inequality, you dont look at the big picture.

Yes! I hope true corporate responsibility for everyone becomes a reality instead of just a marketing slogan. Competition in the marketplace does promote innovation, but corporate actions must be based on conscious striving to help all humanity thrive.

What we need right now is for Americans to heal their dysfunctional minds. The problems of society are the results of thousands of years of dysfunction. A society of functional minds would never allow this type of dysfunction in the first place!
