Many of the people yelling “Bernie could never beat Trump!” know in their hearts that maybe he could - but they themselves don’t want it so they’re just saying that. “He’s too extreme!” What an age we’re living in, that healthcare and education and justice for all seem “extreme.”

It is a little more than that Marianne, and you know it.

How about the fact that we don’t even know yet who’s going to be in the House and Senate next year. Plus the House is Democratic now. Obama was the great accommodater and Mitch still tried to obstruct him on everything. Being “nicer” won’t help.

In order to get some GOOD things in place, the DEMs need to win the POTUS race against proven and improving interference from Russia, retain the House in many areas that *moderates* won, and take the Senate in "purple" States too. DEMS can't accomplish that with Sanders at top.

"Obama was the great accommodater and Mitch still tried to obstruct him on everything." McConnell did what Gingrich et al told him to do. Aim for a Congress reversal in 2010 and increase GOP holds on State Houses. Then cripple the Black vote, and win in 2016. For the *COURTS*.

It's not about being nice it's about recognizing the political demographics of the country. We'll lose moderate seats back to the Republicans with Bernie. It will galvanize the right. The answer is to come up with a vision that makes sense enough to be backed by their own voters.
