The superdelegate system was designed to keep control of nomination process in the hands of party elite. It’s very undemocratic, and any candidate has a right to protest it if it’s used against them.

The founding fathers created the Electoral College in which the PEOPLE would elect the electors and the elected Electors would elect the President. The founders did not create unelected Super Electors to overrule the votes of the PEOPLE.
