In the current healthcare debate, primary focus is on the undue influence of health insurance companies. But we should be just as focused on the undue influence of pharmaceutical companies.

Every time a doctor makes a diagnosis, patients should be guaranteed information regarding nonsurgical or non-pharmaceutical remedies statistically proven to be equally efficacious. And Insurance should have to cover those at the same rate.

Alternative Medicine unbeknown to so many follows the most rigorous scientific method and controls than any corporate medical research. Most physicians are not even familiar with them. Alternative Integrative medicine should be covered as well. They are more effective and safe.

I'm a RN and I couldn't agree. I have to have these exact side conervations with patients. There are no incentives for providers to educate on any other care options.

What are some examples of equally stat proven effective non-pharm remedies?

There is no money in a no answer. Research into basic good health outcomes is rare—whether food or supplements or cleanses, the money is not there to do the science. Once an allopathy is deployed the science is not collected unless used to manage cost.

Love you Marianne, but Homeopathy (and any other unscientific remedy) does not work beyond the placebo effect.

This is so true! I was lucky to have doctors helping me avoid surgery by prescribing physical therapy. To get through the pain I avoided opiates and temporarily used the plant analgesic red vein kratom. Full movement has returned. Stronger than ever. No surgery no opiates.

Yes, a balanced approach. Eg I believes drugs should be avoided unless very necessary. A healthy body because of good self-care is the bottom line. A drug in a toxic body can burden rather than heal. The same with animals - too many vaccines can be toxic. About common sense.

I have to spend so much money out of pocket for benign beneficial health care that is not covered by insurance, yet my insurance will cover the costly pharmaceuticals that treat only symptoms and also have detrimental side effects. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

"Proven to be equally efficacious" ...so, none.
