Pres. Eisenhower (Republican) said “The American mind at its best is both liberal and conservative.” There are high-minded liberal principles and high-minded conservative principles; corporatists like Trump are neither. The EPA was established by a Republican (Nixon), by the way.

Much like Lyndon Johnson in that regard. The War in Vietnam was monstrous, but domestically he was great.
