At CNN Town Halls tonight there were questions about children in cages. There are even more: every child living in a domestic war zone is also in a cage. Every child we fail to teach to read by the age of 8 is living in a cage. Every child who’s hungry & unfed is living in a cage

Not every cage has visible walls but the people within it are still caged. For a child, poverty is a cage. For a child, hunger is a cage. For a child, illiteracy is a cage.Silent emergencies are just as important as screaming ones. Millions of American children are silently caged

Just so we’re clear about numbers here: 13 million children in America are hungry; 100,000 children in America are homeless; millions of American children can’t learn to read by the age of 8, w/ therefore lowered chance of high school graduation & greater chance of incarceration.

I was one of those children,@marwilliamson. Oh how I wish you were fighting for me back then. Literally no one cared. But thank God you’re here now. The children so desperately need you and all of us. Thank you for all you do. ❤️

Kids should be reading by 4-5 and on a second language by 8. American education is embarrassing. Most community college students need remedial math and reading. And we need about 100 more medical schools if we really want health care to be affordable. Simple supply and demand.

Here's Obama DHS Sec. Jeh Johnson and entourage inspecting Obama's #KidsInCages in 2014. You know, the guy who built the cages. Your #SelectiveOutrage is duly noted.

It's time for you to endorse @ewarren and help her win. Only women will properly care for children. Men continually fail to do so (not that many don't try). #EndorseWarren #Warren2020

Aren’t these the same politicians that haven’t allowed school choice. Millions of children are languishing in crappy public schools and the politicians have chosen the teachers unions over the welfare of the actual children. Hypocrisy on grand scale!
