For reasons I don’t understand, anger on the left more frightening to many people than anger on the right. It makes no sense since we’re not the ones carrying guns. But no matter what he does, those who resist him must practice more emotional discipline & adopt a more soulful way

Having guns has nothing to do with being 'on the left'. My gun toting lefty friends just don't want to be victimized and the others largely don't trust themselves with guns. We are all Americans, like it our not.

The reasons are simple. Right wing populism is easily manipulated by the few with money and power. Proper left wing populism targets those very people with money and power, and threatens to take it away from them.
