I totally understand not showing up for the speech; I totally understand walking out on the speech; I totally understand ripping up the speech. I have those feelings too. But none of those things will help us win in 2020. All of them will turn off voters we need if we’re to win.

Democrats need to realize the proverbial “preaching to the choir” ain’t gonna get it done. Those who vote blue will always vote blue. In this day & age you need to turn red & purple voters to blue, and inspire new blue voters otherwise we’ll keep loosing!

We impeached him. He deserved it. We lost. They won. The whole GOP. If we keep handing him our power by reacting to every little thing he does he will own us, own our whole country, and he will be re-elected by a huge margin. We - the Left - need to grow up.

You know, Marianne, one of the reasons I didn't even WATCH that speech is that given the mood of the country, I knew it would be (a) full of gaslighting and outright lies, and (b) divisive by intent. Instead, I prayed and saved my attention for The Day After.
