MLK said we need “qualitative shifts in our soul” as well as “quantitative shifts in our circumstances.” Gandhi said “self- purification” must precede political action. Both of them spoke of the internal changes that are necessary to produce fundamental external change.

Wow! I feel this is the most clear, direct and inspiring statement of how inner growth iand outer actions must be coordinated to become a true human being who chooses to be responsible for the well-being of others. I'll keep working at this. I stiil have lots to learn.
