Misstep made by progressives over last few decades was surrendering the words “patriotic” and “moral.” Nothing more patriotic than taking a stand for democracy when it’s under attack, and nothing is more moral than to save children, stand for justice, save the earth, wage peace.

They didn't surrender these words.....they threw them away from bad behavior. No one in their right mind associates progressives with patriotic or moral.
