“If the USDA’s latest proposal is formally adopted, it would lower some requirements on the volume and variety of fruits and vegetables offered to students.” Nothing a more egregious example of putting corporate profits before people’s well-being. Write in!google.com/amp/s/www.wsj.com…

A country that can afford a $738 billion defense budget but will not ensure its school children a more healthy diet is a country whose moral values are spiraling down and whose future health care costs will be spiraling up.

Take a stand for higher nutritional standards for America’s school lunches. Otherwise the standards are being lowered, and the health and productivity of our children will suffer. Email feedback@usda.gov.

Our Sect’y of Agriculture is Sonny Perdue; the USDA calls the shots re school lunches. If you think it seriously wrong that the Secretary of Agriculture would be arguing for FEWER fruits and vegetables, you’re absolutely right. The Sec of Ag is basically an agribusiness lobbyist.

The bigger problem is they don’t get enough exercise. When we solve that problem we can start working on the lunch problem

Yes, he is. These are truly sick people who have a comprehensive plan to weaken the United States - to the point of destroying our children’s current and future health. Besides ruining lives, their plans will crush the medical system as our kids mature. Money is their “God.”

Mandating that students must choose a vegetable can result in food waste. Salad bars, bags of carrots, fresh fruit and apples are popular options. These don’t typically end up in the garbage cans. Students can save their carrots and apples to eat as a snack later in the day.

Most fruit is just sugar. They should serve alot more meat in schools. If agribusiness does well, then so do the schools. You're going to listen to someone on the side of Obama lunches? Really? Homeschool your children folks. Don't put them in a prison to be taught by the state.

I wonder what the "follow the money trail " would reveal, besides "let them eat french fries " ? On their website there's a lot of info for "stakeholders." Potatos appear to be winning...

They’re wasting so much food because it’s all getting thrown out because the kids don’t want two bananas for lunch.

My kids have both declined school lunches because quote “mama its gross, please anything from home is better” School lunch in America is depressing, sometimes the staff says “I don’t know what we are serving looks so bad” I will write to USDA.
