A country that can afford a $738 billion defense budget but will not ensure its school children a more healthy diet is a country whose moral values are spiraling down and whose future health care costs will be spiraling up.

Our Sect’y of Agriculture is Sonny Perdue; the USDA calls the shots re school lunches. If you think it seriously wrong that the Secretary of Agriculture would be arguing for FEWER fruits and vegetables, you’re absolutely right. The Sec of Ag is basically an agribusiness lobbyist.

I watched Ozzy and Harriet as a child too, but I’ve long since given up the illusion that every child in America has parents who are guiding them regarding healthy food or can even afford healthy food.
