American citizens have been trained to expect too little from our government. The resources of this country - the best in health care, education & economic opportunity - should belong to its citizens. That's what we pay taxes for and that's what we should expect.

I agree with your statement, I vehemently disagree that we should rely on our government to achieve it. People need to help people. Benefits the giver and receiver.We turn over too much of our own responsibilities to govt institutions. Takes the human spirit out of our country.

Human nature is an odd beast. The opportunity for all of those things is here. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. But maybe in the afterlife;)

And every person should have the right to choose their own health care. Children shouldn't be forced to receive chemo that is full of harmful ingredients or parents lose them to CPS. Parents should have the right to choose if they want to vaccinate also on their own schedule.

@marwilliamson- it’s not the government’s responsibility to make sure that children are fed well. It is their parent’s job. You cannot mandate good behavior and common sense unfortunately.
