The circular firing squad so endemic to the Left is deeply destructive, leaving us battered and weakened before the Right even takes a shot. Nothing plays into the hands of our opponents more than our viciousness towards one another.

According to Gandhi’s philosophy of nonviolence, the end is inherent in the means. If we’re hateful to each other now, we’re not going to be able to all come together in some kumbaya effort once the nominee is chosen. Anger weakens us.We can practice respectful disagreement now.

I think those are the fundamental differences between Moderates and Progressives. The deceit that goes in to finding a "Standard Bearer" does nothing to salvage the integrity of the process. This leaves Independent voters without agency and the Party vulnerable to chaos.

Yeah I'm Indian and Gandhi isn't the nonviolent saint rich white ppl think he is. He believed Indians were junior partners in the Aryan brotherhood and are a step above blacks...a belief so toxic it haunts Indian minds (some within my own family) to this day.

But the firing squad (physical violence upon those right of Stalin) is not destructive? You can't expect those who physically, emotionally, and financially attack their fellow countrymen to be that much better to their comrades.
