I heard the Dalai Lama say that a British physicist had told him, “Every nation should view every other nation as a domestic partner.” That one small shift in thinking changes everything.

Sadly, we can’t trust the leader of our next door neighbours. He caused the death of passengers on Ukrainian Airlines flight as surely as he fired the missile.

I'm sorry, a "domestic partner"? Is something getting lost in translation here? Like an unmarried roommate or something?

So @DalaiLama I know as a youth you loved to watch movies, probably to learn fast. Here's another way--duolingo. You can learn 50 languages. I'm sure you can learn them all. This is the way nations should be. Small shift in thinking.

So @DalaiLama I learn a lot of languages, including on duolingo. Each time I learn one my mind goes through changes. I view the speakers through, let's say, the best use of that language for those people. Put Tibetan on their please. Just do a project. I'll finish learning it.

That sounds about right. Especially when one partner continually calls for the death and destruction of the other.
