I’m not romanticizing American capitalism or American govt before the 1980s, but I can honestly tell you this: America wasn’t always the good guy but there was a general consensus we were supposed to be. When we weren’t, we were mentally healthy enough to hang our heads in shame.

Two things happened: 1) Soviet Union collapsed & there was no longer SU as the 'bad guy', & US as the 'good guy'; 2) R. Reagan destroyed unions/middle class, govt' fiscal responsibility, & ushered in the era of individual/corporate greed being the 'thing' that US should aspire to

You act like Americans flew planes into buildings or send children suicide bombers into buildings.

I really don't even understand what you are trying to say? You will never get people to like you when your over all feelings are negative towards our country! We real Americans want our President to love and know in their hearts that this is truly the best country on the planet!

Hang head in shame and then repeat the cycle ad infinitum.

America would have a bright future and be thriving and successful with a Marianne Williamson Presidency! #Marianne2020 💖🇺🇸💖

What happened ... ? What happened now 🥺 🙈 That was like back when universities supported Free Speech amidst the violence.
If we hadn’t supported the Shah there would be no conflict in Iran today. America has always been more of an idea than a place. Our record of international actions has been no more stellar than the British, French or German.
