Beware thinking only Establishment forces are “qualified” to talk about war! Gen. Powell, Cheney & Rumsfeld all “qualified” and led us into the war in Iraq. Btw, more women and children died in wars in the 20th century then did military combatants. Damn right we’re qualified.

Marianne, being affected by it is not the same thing. Sure many have an emotional story. But no that does not mean they have an inkling about the details, foreign policy, the agenda, the threat etc and even the guys you described weren't that good at it with all that knowledge.

Yes, and yes! Exactly! Qualified according to whom? And what is the vested interest of the parties calling them "qualified"? Perspective is subjective.

If you have ever been to war in this lifetime you are against war because you have seen how tragic it is and you never recover. If you have never been to war in your lifetime and you are against war you are an enlightened person who needs to stand stronger than ever.

It’s audacious for sure!
“We’re living in complete and utter denial about the path of disaster we are headed toward [...] & those who are part of the political system that got us here have the audacity to claim that they are the only people we should consider qualified to lead us out.” @marwilliamson

Hippies have opinions. Politicians and MEMBERS OF THE MILITARY have facts. Granted, the war in Iraq wasn’t based on SOLID facts, but at least they had something besides their heart that was informing their decisive moves. Bit different.
