Collection of money for schools is wasteful. We already threw money at the problem. Problem is 1. a lot of kids don't want to be there 2. Teachers aren't educated enough to teach well.

The greatest signifier of of kids do well in school is if they come from a two parent household. We can throw as much money after an issue but the real problem is the breakdown of the family unit.

In my experience the best school districts have strong PTOs and tend to be in communities with parents who have time and money to donate to their childs school. Addressing economic issues in communities lacking resources would go a long way.

Every American wants an excellent education for THEIR kids, and has a list of excuses why OTHER kids are too rich, too poor, too black, too white, too smart, too dumb, to deserve any Slack at all. System reflects BOTH imperatives. Kids may as well learn.
